On August 15, 2017 SaskPower submitted an application to the Panel to increase its rates by 5%, to take effect March 1, 2018. The Panel conducted public consultations on the rate application, including a live-streamed pubic meeting in Regina on October 3, 2017. The Panel also engaged technical consultants who presented their analysis in a report that was submitted to the Panel in November 2017. After consideration of the input received from the public and the technical analysis, the Panel submitted its Report with its recommendations on January 10, 2018.

The Following is an excerpt from the Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel website (full page is accessible at HERE):
On May 20, 2016 SaskPower had submitted an application to the Panel to increase its rates by 5% on July 1, 2016 and a further 5% on January 1, 2017. The July 1 increase was implemented on an interim basis, while the Panel conducted its public consultations and technical analysis of the rate application. The Panel submitted its report with its recommendations to the Minister responsible on November 7, 2016.
The Panel’s report to the Minister and the technical consultants’ report to the Panel are posted under Reports. The Panel’s media release summarizing the results of its report is posted under the Other category and on the news releases page for SaskPower.
